The rendition of a landscape is a great vehicle to expound upon in a plethora of conveyances.
For nearly 3 years, I could regularly be found registering elements of Slippery Rock Creek (McConnell's Mill State Park) in plein air.
The pieces in this show, to this point, span three series. Each series contain several works and represent a leg of the creek's vicinity within the park.
The additional artistic element of sculpture has more recently come into play. These pieces have a very close association with the paintings in approach and text.
I forsee that at a point in time the entire state park will be rendered in like manner and as for now, the number of series of paintings and sculpture is unkown.
The works benchmark thought, and the majority of them are spiritual, but they also have literal and musical influences.
Each work is therefore a reservoir of time, as well as any art should be.
The stelae are adumbrate orthostats.
Rock is spiritual.
Rock is prehistoric.
Rock is primitive.
Rock is in situ.
Rock is spiritual.
