What is Student Employment?

There are three types of Student Employment:

  1. The Federal Work-Study Program
  2. The Instutional Employment Program
  3. The America Reads Program

 

The Federal Work-Study Program is a need based program determined by the Financial Aid Office.  In order to be eligible to participate in Federal Work-Study, you must:

  • Enroll at least half-time (6 or more credits)
  • Complete a Student Employment Application (You can download the application below)
  • Make satisfactory academic progress
  • Complete a FAFSA

 

The Institutional Employment Program is a non-need based program available to interested students.  In order to be eligible to participate in Instutional Employment, you must:

  • Enroll at least half-time (6 or more credits)
  • Complete a Student Employee Job application (You can download the application below)

 

The America Reads Program is a tutoring position through America Reads/Butler County Reads.  The America Reads Program is a need based program determined by the Financial Aid office.

 

Job Postings

The following are a list of available student employment positions for the Summer 2008 semester.  For more informtaion on available positions, contact the Financial Aid Office.

 

Work-Study Positions

 

Cranberry Center                             15 hrs per week

 

EMS                                                    12 hrs per week

 

TISL Lab                                            10 hrs per week

 

*Summer Work-Study begins May 19th and ends August 15.

*Time sheets are due the 15th and last day of every month.

 

Application Process

  1. Download and complete a Student Employee Application.
  2. Return the application to the Financial Aid Office.
  3. The Financial Aid Office will check your eligibility and forward your application to the supervisor of your first job choice.
  4. If the position is still available, that supervisor will contact you for an interview.  If the position is filled, your application will be forwarded to your next job choice.

Hiring Proces

  1. Bring your signed application to the Financial Aid Office.  You will complete a Student Employee Contract and be given a Payroll Authorization Form and sent to the Human Resources Office.
  2. Complete all necessary paperwork with Human Resources.
  3. Begin Working.
